Happy 2017! We have been busy at home staying cozy and working on our music space. Yesterday, we went to the first of the Georgian Bay Folk Society’s workshop series on being a musician in the music business. There will be workshops held throughout the year on everything from performing to booking a tour, culminating in a conference in October. What a wealth of knowledge. James Keelaghan, Artistic director is really trying to develop this community as a place where musicians can live. We recommend that any musician interested, whether you are just into the open mics or pursuing gigs should take part!
It has been a busy summer! We became homeowners and it has been the huge project of finally getting our living room set up for a practice and jam space. Summer goes fast so we are trying to enjoy whatever outdoor time we can get! There are still a few chances to see us perform this summer:
Aug. 13: Cranberry Resort, Collingwood 6-8:30 pm
Sun. Aug 14: Earthbound Gardens, Red Bay 2-4pmSat. Aug 27: Harrison Park inn5:30-8pm
Here is a short clip, taken at the Desboro Music Hall when we opened for Oh Sussanah!
It has been a crazy spring! We have had to work a bit more at our “day jobs” lately, but it has worked out, because we became homeowners! Over the summer we are going to finally have a proper practice space. Stay tuned to see how our space transforms! We have also been playing with our other side project, the Great Canadian Swampstompers. Live at the last SOUNDS Owen Sound this June:
We are looking forward this week to heading out on a Summer Solstice mini-tour with our Amazingly talented friend Richard Garvey. If you can make it out, or know someone who would like our show, thanks for spreading the word!
